At the end of last year I asked for your opinions about titles for a book studies. I purchased three titles. How Full Is Your Bucket?, Teaching With Intention, Never Work Harder Than Your Students. I read How Full Is Your Bucket and Teaching With Intention. I enjoyed both books. I especially enjoyed Debbie Miller's Teaching With Intention. Reading her books always excites me and makes me really miss the classroom. I want to be the kind of teacher she exemplifies.
How Full Is Your Bucket is about how our words and attitudes can brighten or ruin someones day. This is so applicable for our students. I realized that the Shelby County school my grandson attends was teaching the students the tenents of this book. He told me that they have to fill up each others buckets and that when you are mean you empty them. This book is an easy read that you can put into practice right away. I have six copies of each book. How do you suggest beginning these book studies?

Help with laminating
Welcome back to Growing Spaces for 09-10. I hope this blog will be used for your comments and ideas as we grow together through the year. Please remember you can post answers to each other's posts or start a new strand of your own.
One of the more urgent yet mundane things I need your input on is how to handle paying for laminating. I have already bought six double rows and they are now gone. Without money from the state I have had to buy this out of the office account. I have spent over $400 since August for your laminating film not counting the laminating cost for all the car signs. I don't want to charge teachers for this service, but I need your input on how to solve this dilemma.

Professional Development
If you are having trouble playing a DVD on your laptop, there is suppose to be a disc that came with the laptop that will install the program you need.
My question for the week is about professional development books. One of the books I was interested in was Teaching With Intention by Debbie Miller, I haven't read this but I love Debbie Miller. I also am spot reading Never Work Harder Than Your Students & Other Principles of Great Teaching. Would you rather we all work on the same book ,or would you like to be able to choose from several titles? If you would like to choose, what are your suggestions? Also remember we will need facilitators for each book study. Are you willing to facilitate? With all these questions I guess I am making up for the weeks I didn't post!

Question for the Week of March 30
Our AMSTI science modules are arriving this week. How can we use our new cameras in some of our lesson plans with these modules? Please feel free to post any pictures or projects to this blog. Please make sure you are reading everyone's comments. If you want to respond to one another's comments that would be great.
